Hey, I'm impressed. I remembered how to get in to post a blog, and it worked, especially with this old computer and slow internet connection. I had a nice weekend. I took a mental rest and spent some time with the family and completed a few physical task around the house and garden. Yesterday I was able to spend some time making the few corrections to the web page I created last week. I believe it's "good to go" until I get a chance to add some more information once school starts or later this summer during preperation for school.
Today will be spent doing some clean up around the barn. The heavy rains on Sunday flooded the goat barn and the chicken house is due for a good cleaning...the kids never look forward to these days. By the way, the little goat that was sick is improving, I'd say he's about 85-90%.

Last day of edw647
Wow, what a week. We have covered so much information that I feel like I am having information overload. The material has been rather difficult (for me), especially today. Designing and uploading a web site. Even though I have far from mastered many of the task taught this week, I have learned a lot. I can say I know much more today than I did on Monday. I have a much better appreciation of the work, knowledge and patience required to create a web page(and working with the computer in general). I must say, that I often felt very stressed trying to complete the different tasks efficiently but, Dr. Nazli was always encouraging and positive about the progress being made (thank you). In the future, I'm not so sure I will be able to use the specific programs used this week but I am sure I will be able to be more productive and confident using and navigating the computer to complete necessary materials for my classroom. I do plan to develop another (more professional) web page for the courses I teach. I will explore the program available through our school district.

What's happening today in edw647
Today we will begin to develope a webpage ... Another challenge. My plans will be to create a web site that will allow students and parents to access information about me and the courses I teach. Visitors will be able to access other pages for individual course outlines and photos of student projects. Links to other sites will lead visitors to district sites and sites related to woodworking.

Summer life 2007

The summer is moving along rather quickly. We are already approaching the end of July. Staying busy has not been a problem. During the week following the end of school, my family went camping at Knobles Grove. We have also visited Hershey Park a couple of times. The remainder of my time has been spent working the farm and maintaining equipment. We have cut and baled the first cutting of hay and have harvested the wheat and baled the straw. I am completing the second of two Educational Workshops at Millersville University. The current one is called Internet for Educators and is quite challenging for me. We are creating a blog and a web page. Although I am way out of my comfort zone, I am learning a lot of information and will hopefully be able to use this new knowledge in/for my classroom. The month of August will be used completing home improvement projects and doing some jobs for friends and relatives.
